Language: Rust (latest stable). Edition 2024. Formatting: rustfmt with default settings. No manual formatting. Clippy: enable clippy::all and clippy::pedantic. Allow specific lints with justification. Naming: snake_case for functions/vars, PascalCase for types, SCREAMING_SNAKE for constants. Ownership: prefer borrowing over cloning. Use references in function parameters. Errors: Result<T, E> for recoverable. thiserror for libraries, anyhow for applications. Option: use map, and_then, unwrap_or_default. Never unwrap() in production code. Unsafe: avoid unless necessary. Document safety invariants for every unsafe block. Traits: prefer trait bounds over dyn for performance. Use dyn for heterogeneous collections. Modules: mod.rs or filename.rs. Keep module tree shallow. Testing: #[test] in same file for unit tests. tests/ directory for integration tests. Dependencies: minimize. Check with cargo-deny for licenses and vulnerabilities. CI: cargo fmt --check, cargo clippy, cargo test, cargo deny check.
